The Internal Medicine Service at the UF Large Animal Hospital is dedicated to providing comprehensive medical care to a wide range of species, including horses, cattle, small ruminants, camelids, and occasionally pigs. Our veterinarians diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions, from routine and common illnesses to critical and life-threatening diseases.

Our services include neonatology, neurology, respiratory medicine, gastroenterology, and infectious disease management for cases that do not require surgical intervention. We regularly evaluate and manage horses for a range of common issues, such as fever, colic, gastric ulcers, diarrhea, pneumonia, neurologic disorders, anemia, liver disease, nasal discharge, and poor performance. In collaboration with our cardiology and dermatology specialists, we also provide expert care for diseases of the heart and skin.
